Arun Jaitly clarified about Supreme Court’s Judgment on Privacy Right of Aadhaar

Indian Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, who is in the official tour in United States to attend the Annual Meeting of IMF and the World Bank has clarified the issue on recent judgment of Supreme Court on Privacy Right about Aadhar.  The question raised by a student during his speech the Colombia University as “what is the status of the Government on recent judgment of Supreme Court on Privacy Right on Aadhaar” asked by a student.  The Minister Arun Jaitley answered for that question in his speech that, “the Supreme Court is given favourable judgment on present issues, they provided exemptions to protect the Aadhaar information.  The first exemption from the Privacy Right is about National Defense and second exemption is Crime Investigation, to control the law and order and third one is expressed about the issue on social – economy benefits” he explained.

He also opined that “the third exemption is favourable and relevant to Aadhaar and there is a statutory rules in a special chapter of Aadhaar, which contained that the ways to proceed to protect of the personal information and all are the rules will come in to force”.  He also opined that, “it was given good result even when implementation of “Demonetization” also, which proceeded as privacy of personal information” he added.

Minister Arun Jaitley also said that “Transparency is a good thing to maintain, but it cannot applicable on some issues like Demonetization.  If the Government announces the decision of Demonetization in before its implementation in the context of transparency, the black money holders were may escape from it by purchase of lands, gold, etc.  The Demonetization was succeeded by proceeded confidentially.  Even it was not known to the printing persons for what the purpose of huge number of new currency notes getting printed by the Government.  Moreover, we were not noticed that the genuine public agitations as against the Demonetization.  The Indian economy is strengthened with the decisions of the Government by implementing the revolutionary decisions like Demonetization and GST (Goods and Service Tax), etc.  In coming days we will see the Indian economy, which will become huge economy” he explained.
